Improving Balance and Stability in our Chair Yoga Classes at Rainbow Omega

June Goals: Balance


The residents at Rainbow Omega have been working on improving their balance and stability with our Chair Yoga Classes. Balancing poses are an great way to use your body, breath, and focus to ground yourself in the moment. And since physical balance is something we need throughout our lives, we can start the practice of improving it at any time, regardless of age or yoga experience.


My focus for the June sessions have been on balancing poses such as the tree and chair pose. We worked on a lot poses that required us to stand on one foot such as the 1 leg downward dog and warrior 3 pose. You can see some of the residents trying these poses in the pictures below. Everyone realized that one side of the body is better at balancing than the other!



Happy Independence Day


I hope everyone is having a wonderful 4th of July spending time with family and friends! Our next session will be on July 5th. We will using massage balls and other tools to help with learning how to relax.


Reminder: If a resident has to miss a class for any reason, they can make it up with the next class. I am keeping an attendance log for each class.
